First Post

So I decided to copy Stefano's idea and create a blog for myself.

I like to write stuff and never made any effort to do so. So now I have a chance to do this.

Since nothing crazy ever happens in my own life, I am going to write about my favorite topics. These include sports, music, movies, tv, politics, among other things.

So here we go:

First topic: Sports

I need to run my mouth a bit on the dumbest trade I have ever seen in NBA history. The Heat traded Shaq for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. What the fuck was Phoenix thinking?

Shaq is becoming the most washed up player in the league. He is in his alte 30s and is extremely immobile. So now he is on the fastest run and gun team in the past 10 years, The Suns. He totally does not fit into the Suns offense, and he is jsut getting older and more injured as the years go on. It's not like Phoenix made this trade for salary reasons also, cause Shaq still has a full year on contract after this year, for like $30 million or some ridiculous amount.

Props to Miami for actually giving their team a future. Miami is currently the worst team in the league even though they have one of the leagues best players, Dwyane Wade. The just acquired one the top small forwards in the league, whos relatively young, for almsot nothing. The Heat also will probably get a top 3 draft pick this year and instantly put them back into the playoff picture and maybe even more next year.

Topic 2: Music

So I recently PURCHASED the new Mars Volta album. The more I listen to this album the more it sucks.

Seriously, they just completely quit trying to make music. The songs have absolutely no rhythm, as usual, and nothing but noise. I remember last year when I started listening to Mars Volta, I thought De-Loused in a Comatorium was the most original album I had heard in a long time (partially cause prior to this I listen to only rap, and we all know rap has no originality anymore). The I heard Frances the Mute and was like, "ok, its not as good as De-Loused, but still pretty good". Amputechture survived my liking just cause most of the songs were decent enough and there were only about 6-7 of them.

Now Bedlam in Goliath came out. It is the exact same thing I have been hearing from Mars Volta for the past 4 albums. They aren't doing anything original anymore. It keeps getting worse and worse. I just don't understand Mars Volta anymore. I am increasingly losing respect for them, especially after the 40 minute jam session at the Chili Peppers Concert, last year.

3rd topic: Movies

So everynight when I get home from work, I usually put on the tv and watch a basketball game or a movie. There has been one movie, that I put on everytime its on, and I really don't know why. It is just completely entertaining me, and I laugh everytime I watch it. It got no play when it came out, and is completely underrated.

Grandma's Boy

Yea, I am not proud of myself, but this movie is legitimately funny.

Somehow this snuck by as another Adam Sandler/Happy Madison crappy production. It's not. If anything it ends up being a Stoner Comedy, with a billion video game references, that of course I understand. Surprisingly the acting is actually good. From typical Kevin Nealon, acting like a jackass, or Jonah Hill, umm, acting like a jackass. Even the skinny guy from Dodgeball is hilarious in this.

If you haven't seen this movie, please get high on something and watch it. But of course, I don't do that shit anymore, so just watch it anyway.
