So I had my first Dim Sum experience today in Chinatown, and it was delicious.
So to start the day off, I hop a train from Metropark to New York. I'm sitting like two rows behind this extremely loud person. There was a guy and a girl and they were loud as hell. Seriously, and then they started clapping and shit. So all I hear is this girl talking about shopping and her dads a tailor and shit, and its pissing me off.
I don't wanna fucking hear about daddy, the tailor, and your fuckin shopping experiences. I don't think anyone else on the train does either.
So finally I get up to walk to the exit cause I was going to get off the train, and I look back, and this fuckin loud chick is actually a super gay dude.
I was dumbfounded, I couldn't believe the chick's voice I was hearing was coming from a dude.
Anyway, I could still fuckin hear them from the exit too.
So after I take numerous trains to get to the restaurant in Chinatown, I finally arrive, took me almost 2 hours.
The restaurant is called Jing Fong, I think, and it was awesome. So I'm waiting for my friends and watchin the most ridiculous scene ever, cause of course Stefano is late.
It's this little asian girl, to me she looks like shes about 15, and this old asian guy, and they are calling #s for tables.
It was like speed bingo or something.
They were on microphones screaming numbers. "171""79"
As soon as a number is called, people come rushing over, and basically get thrown up an escalator to a dining room.
This place was so fun. Workers just roll around carts, and you start grabbing the food you want, and they dont speak much English either, so if you want chicken, just say chicken and they throw a bowl at you.
Apparently not all the carts make their way over to your table, so you gotta walk around and get what you want.
Just picture this: Stefano in a spiderman costume running around a huge dining hall trying to grab the food he and our table wants.
Hilarious.
Great meal, fun restaurant, not expense, and the trip was totally worth it.
